Q&A On The Franchise Opportunity
What area will I be given as part of this franchise?:
Our initial franchise business was based on areas but in early 2015 our franchise model was changed based on feedback from some of our existing franchisees who felt that having a defined area restricted them in building a business.
A franchisee can now travel anywhere within the state that they have chosen to commence their business in as defined by the franchise agreement.
Do I need to buy a new car upon commencement of my business?:
No, we are flexible on when you purchase a vehicle for your business.
More details are provided in the franchise agreement.
What is testing and tagging?
The AS/NZS 3760: which is the Australian standard specifies that the inspection and testing of single phase and 3 phase portable electrical appliances and equipment connected to a supply by a flexible cord which is currently in service, returning to service or available for re-sale or hire must be carried out by a competent person.
What hours are involved in operating a SafePower franchise?
Most times the testing and tagging work is carried out during business hours, there are times where a business may require you to perform the testing and tagging during closing times but this is rare.
How are clients generated?
SafePower has in place a professional telemarketing team to help franchisees create business. Franchisees can request telemarketing on a monthly basis
Part of the 2 packages available involves an internet based marketing package to help kick start a franchisees business.
We also teach franchisees how to market and promote their own businesses.
We also promote franchisees on here on our website.
All franchisees have a facebook page designed by us.
We continually tender for corporate business and local, state and federal departments.
What fees are involved in this franchise?
Unlike most other franchises we don’t believe in charging a franchisee a percentage of their business turnover we charge a low flat rate franchise fee each month and that’s it.
This fee is not charged for the first 12 months of a franchisees business operation.
We do this so as to keep the overheads as low as possible for the first 12 months of business.
Will I be trained on how to test & tag?
Yes, our training program consists of a 5 day intensive course on how to test and tag according to the Australian Standard.

Yes, Franchisees will be able to obtain their certificate 11 in fire safety. This is included in the franchise package.

Yes, whilst the franchisee is training we will be setting up your on-line marketing package.
How many hours a week will I be required to work?
As the business belongs to the franchisee it is their choice as to how many hours they work. We can only suggest that a franchisee put as many hours as they can into their business in the first three years.
Can I work in another part time job whilst building this business?
Yes, their are franchisees who have worked part time in jobs so as to maintain a steady income until such time as they feel comfortable in just working on the business.
Do I need to buy on going tags, stationary or equipment from you?
No, at first we provide all of the equipment, stationary etc as part of the franchise package, but if you decide later on to purchase this elsewhere you can do so as long as it fits in with our business model.
